Shawna Macfarlane joined the Niagara Falls Country Club team as Head Tennis Professional in 1984 following a strong collegiate tennis career with previous positions at Crane Creek Country Club in Boise, Idaho, Assistant Tennis Professional at the Homestead in Glen Arbor, Michigan and a Professional with the Inn and Tennis Club at Manitou. From 1985 to 1995 she was a teaching professional at the Village Glen Tennis Club in Williamsville, N.Y. Currently, Shawna serves her community as President of the Buffalo Niagara Community Tennis Association; a not for profit organization which is dedicated to promoting tennis at the community level. She is an Eastern Tennis Schools Program Trainer, member of the Eastern Community Development Committee, Eastern USTA League Committee and a Western Region Board Member.

Shawna is long time Buffalo USTA League Coordinator where players compete locally on teams with opportunities to compete for a national title. Currently the Buffalo/Niagara league program has over 1,800 players.
